JOHNSTONCHIEF...AVIATION SERVICES BRANCH SUBJECT NEW TERMINAL AERODROME FORECAST /TAF/ SERVICE FOR MOBILE DOWNTOWN AIRPORT /KBFM/ IN MOBILE ALABAMA: EFFECTIVE TUESDAY MARCH 25 2008 NOTE THE FOLLOWING CHANGES HAVE NO IMPACT ON NOAA WEATHER
WIRE SERVICE SUBSCRIBERS EFFECTIVE TUESDAY MARCH 25 2008 AT 1200 COORDINATED UNIVERSAL TIME /UTC/...THE NWS OFFICE IN MOBILE ALABAMA WILL BEGIN TAFSERVICE FOR MOBILE DOWNTOWN AIRPORT /KBFM/ IN MOBILE ALABAMA. BOTH ROUTINE AND UPDATED TAFS WILL BE ISSUED FOR THIS AIRPORT 24 HOURS A DAY.
NWS PERSONNEL WILL NEED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING IDENTIFIER TO THEIR COMMUNICATIONS SYSTEMS TO RECEIVE THE NEW TAF:AIRPORT WMO HEADING AWIPS ID MOBILE DOWNTOWN FTUS44 KMOB TAFBFM
IN ADDITION THE NEW TAF WILL BE ADDED TO ALL THREE OF THEFOLLOWING EXISTING TAF COLLECTIVES...TRANSMITTED TO FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION PERSONNEL AND OTHER EXTERNAL USERS
WMO HEADINGS AVAILABLE TO THE FOLLOWING CUSTOMERS FTUS80 KWBC NON-FAA DOMESTIC AND FAMILY OF SERVICES FTUS90 KWBC FAA WEATHER MESSAGE SWITCHING CENTER AND FAA FACILITIES FTUS52 KWBC GLOBAL TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEM CUSTOMERSHOLDERS OF NWS PROCEDURAL INSTRUCTION 10-813 /TERMINAL AERODROME FORECASTS/ SHOULD MAKE THE APPROPRIATE ADDITION TO THE APPENDICES.
