*Details of the Outage: *The Air Force Weather Agency will conduct an equipment upgrade on 23 Sep 2008 from 1645Z-2300Z which will adversely impact your operations during this period.
*Data Affected by the Outage:*The Air Force Weather Agency will suspend most production capabilities from
1645Z to 2300Z on 3 Sep 2008 to facilitate equipment upgrades.This action will impact war fighter support in the following areas: LEADS and N-TFS will not receive data, TAWS will be degraded as maps and files will not update, PADS will not be available, JAAWIN-Unclassified to include observation upload,no data will
be routed to external agencies (e.g., OWSs, WFs, FNMOC, NOAA, AFTAC, DTRA) and AFWA will be unable to ingest data from external sources.METSAT data will not be updated nor disseminated.Space weather products will not be created nor disseminated. Alphanumeric data such as observations and forecasts will queue during the outage and be ingested when systems are returned to service.
JAAWIN-S and JAAWIN-SCI will operate in a degraded state as data andproducts passed from unclassified sources will not be updated. The 18Z WRF run will be available on JAAWIN-S.
Following the outage, there will be a period of degraded operations to repopulate AFWA databases. WILLIAM E.
