-------- Original Message -------- Topic: SATEPSDIST Server (GOES Derived Products) Upgrade Message Issued: November 24, 2008, 1715 UTC Satellites Impacted: None. Products Impacted: SATEPS GOES Derived Products from SATEPSDIST1 (McIDAS Sounder DPI, Imager DPI, Hydroestimator, Volcanic Ash) Date/Time of Initial Impact: November 24, 2008 1700 UTC ----------------------------------------- Details: ESPC will be performing a swap of the SATEPS GOES Derived Product server on Monday, November 24th at around 1700 UTC (1200 LT). Users currently pulling McIDAS GOES Derived Products via (ADDE) or by FTP from SATEPSDIST1e might see a slight outage during the transition, as the IP addresses are swapped and McIDAS sessions restarted. This swap is to place more powerful servers into operations, to alleviate the problems that exist with the current IBM P5 systems. Users who switched back to the original pre-migration servers located in the NOAA Science Center/World Weather Building (gp12.ssd.nesdis.noaa.gov) will still be able to access these systems, but we recommend switching to the new systems. Users pulling GOES Derived Products from SATEPSDIST1e will not need to change configuration, as the new systems will be moved to those addresses. Server configuration: SATEPS GOES Derived Products, ADDE and FTP: Dataset group: DPD WWB address: GP12.ssd.nesdis.noaa.gov NSOF address: SATEPSDIST1e.nesdis.noaa.gov Users experiencing problems (including access problems) should send e-mail to the following addresses: ESPCOperations@xxxxxxxx Brian.Hughes@xxxxxxxx All remaining SATEPS servers are still in the validation process: SATEPSDIST1e: GOES Derived Products **Polar data served from DDS are not affected by this switch.** ------------------------------------------ Contact Information: Brian Hughes User Services Satellite Services Division NOAA/NESDIS/OSDPD 301-763-8051 x106 brian.hughes@xxxxxxxx See http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/SATS/messages.html for this and other satellite related messages.
