[nws-changes] 20090501: NWSTG outage

On Tues May 5 at 6:30am EDT (10:30 UTC), we will upgrade the OS on the firewalls at the NWS Telecommunications Gateway (NWSTG Washington, DC).
A maintenance window of 30 min is scheduled. We expect short disruptions when we switch between primary and backup firewalls. 


_*Affected Traffic*__*

We expect the following traffic will not be affected:
   Traffic between NESDIS/NATICE and DATMS-U

Please note:
   Links to directly connected users will remain up.
   NOAANet connections will remain up.
   TG Public servers will remain up.
However, all TG data exchange may experience some disruption during the upgrade. 


_*Critical Weather:*_
If the scheduled date is designated a Critical Weather Day, the outage will be postponed. 

We apologize for any inconvenience that this outage may cause.  Please
contact me if the timing of this outage presents a critical problem for
your operations.

Please forward this message to anyone who will be affected by this
action but was left off the mailing list.  I would appreciate if you
would send me the email address of anyone that should be informed of
scheduled downtime in the future, but was not included in the current
list.  Also, inform me if you wish to have your name removed from this
list.
