The NOAA National Weather Service MicroART upper air system at International Falls, Minnesota (WMO# 72747), will be decommissioned on or about May 15, 2009, and installation of the new Radiosonde Replacement System (RRS) will begin. No upper air observations will be provided from this office while RRS is being installed.
Beginning May 25, 2009, or shortly thereafter, upper air observations will be issued using the RRS and GPS Mark IIA Sippican radiosondes.
