-------- Original Message -------- GOME Ozone users, This weekend we had a recurrence of the GOME-2 outage, similar to what happened last weekend when EUMETSAT flagged the 1B's as degraded, which stopped our processing of our total ozone product. Unfortunately, our operations personnel saw the 1B's coming in and did not notice that the products were not being made. I apologize for any inconvenience thatthis caused.
The outage lasted from 6/6 (Sat) at 6:42 UTC until 6/7 (Sun) at 11:45 UTC. EUMETSAT is working on a resolution of this problem on their end. It is not an instrument or satellite problem, but rather a problem with theirauxiliary file handling in their ground processing of the level 0 data. I have provided reminders to our operations staff as to what to look for
when our product is not being made so we will alert you in a more timelymanner in the future.
