-------- Original Message -------- <snip>I was wondering if you would be able to distribute to your colleagues and customers information regarding a new website NCO has developed to access graphical model guidance? We have been working for the last 18 months on a more intuitive website that would better meet the needs of our customers. We are planning on sending out an official Public Information Statement, and I thought of Unidata to assist us in spreading the word to the University Community.
We envisioned the notification to look like the following:The National Centers for Environmental Prediction’s (NCEP) Central Operations is seeking user comments on the new experimental Model Analyses and Guidance (MAG) website, located at:
http://mag.ncep.noaa.govThis site is an upgrade of the current experimental Model Analysis and Forecast (MAF) site. The MAG has been designed to improve the user experience by creating a more interactive interface that showcases the NWS observational database and suite of numerical model analysis and guidance. When the MAG is made operational, the experimental MAF site will be discontinued.
The experimental MAG was made available in June, and we are seeking public comment through December 31, 2010. Comments on the MAG may be provided via a survey at: http://www.weather.gov/survey/nws-survey.php?code=NCEP-MAG
For technical questions/comments about the MAG, you can send an email to mag.helpdesk@xxxxxxxx
