NOUS41 KWBC 291850 PNSWSH Service Change Notice 10-40 National Weather Service Headquarters Washington DC 250 PM EDT Wed Sep 29 2010 To: Subscribers: -Family of Services -NOAA Weather Wire Service -Emergency Managers Weather Information Network -NOAAPORT Other NWS Partners and NWS Employees From: Eli Jacks Chief, Fire and Public Weather Services Branch Subject: Modified Zone Forecast Product (ZFP) for Weather Forecast Office Juneau (AJK), Alaska : Effective November 2, 2010Effective Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at 1300 Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), 5:00 AM Alaska Daylight Time (AKDT), Weather Forecast Office (WFO) Juneau (AJK), Alaska, will modify its Zone Forecast Product (ZFP) by adding optional “specific site forecast” information to the bottom of the product. See NWSI 10-204, Derived Forecast Text Products Specifications, ZFP Format:
http://www.weather.gov/os/public/dir/ZFP_Format.pdfIn the new format, specific communities will be listed within each forecast zone along with maximum and minimum temperatures and probabilities of precipitation for up to 2 days into the future.
This change will improve service by providing greater detail to the zone forecast.
