The decision to declare the MAG website operational is based upon comments received. The older Model Analysis and Forecast (MAF) webpages will be removed by the end of March. NCEP will issue a Technical Information Notice announcing this removal The NWS previously issued a Public Information Statement (PNS) announcing the NCEP experimental Model Analysis and Guidance (MAG) website available at http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov and proposing to replace the MAF website with this newer service. The MAG website showcases the NWS suite of graphical numerical model analyses and guidance and observational database. A document is provided on the MAG website to describe the service and guide users in transitioning to the new MAG.
