Subject: Implementing Security Improvements to Aviation Weather
         Websites Effective August 16, 2011.

Effective Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at 1500 Coordinated
Universal Time (UTC), the NWS Aviation Weather Center will
implement IT security improvements to www.aviationweather.gov
and www.aviationweather.gov/adds websites. These improvements
will be transparent to most users; however, anyone who uses
automated scripts to access and retrieve data from these
websites will need to make minor changes to the URL address.

Previously users could access both www.aviationweather.gov and
www.aviationweather.gov/adds without placing the "www" at the
beginning of the URL. With the security changes being
implemented, access to these websites will require the use of
"www"in the URL.
