SUBJECT: 2013 Dates for four NWS Upper air Stations to Begin Use
of the GPS Lockheed Martin LMS-6 Radiosonde with the
Radiosonde Replacement Systems (RRS)
Four NWS upper air sites are scheduled to transition from the GPS
Lockheed Martin Mark IIA radiosonde to the GPS Lockheed Martin LMs-6 radiosonde on or shortly after the dates listed below. STATION NAME WMO # STN IDImplementation Date Lincoln, IL 74560 KILX August 8, 2013 Reno, NV 72489 KREV August 8, 2013 Albuquerque, NM 72365 KABQ August 15, 2013 Buffalo, NY 72528 KBUF August 19, 2013 No missed observations are expected to occur during the equipment transition.
