No, I'm sorry, I meant to do a lot more in terms of editing these down, getting
read of dead time, etc.. But my lack of video editing skills and lack of time
to do the editing meant that never happened.
I eventually gave copies of the 2017 recordings to Doug Dierks at Unidata at
the last Users Committee meeting in September - he was going to try to do some
cleaning up of them, but I don't know if that ever happened either - I'm
guessing a similar lack of time has kept that low priority.
At any rate, here are the raw recordings for the 2017 workshop - 2 days of
python (Ryan May, John Leeman), split up into 4 pieces, morning/afternoon
sessions each day, and 1 day of AWIPS (Michael James), again split as
morning/afternoon:
MetPy/Siphon part 1 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7zmvJPB-_Zo
MetPy/Siphon part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YENRLDNVWwQ
MetPy/Siphon part 3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrvgrdLCemw
MetPy/Siphon part 4 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lmXthwpmOCQ
AWIPS part 1 [no sound for the first 9:30 minutes.. My bad..]
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A4b_BhF16XE
AWIPS part 2 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N4wueKTTsXs
For reference, here are the recordings of the two 2-day python workshops given
in 2016 at UW-Madison as well. The content layout and audience were a little
bit different for the 2016 workshops, but they may be useful to someone,
especially the git/software carpentry parts.

up, I'm happy to provide the mp4 files.

Pete,
Did you ever get a chance to work on these vids? I didn't see a
subsequent message from you on this, but maybe I missed it. If so, I
apologize in advance and ask how can I access them.

David,
We did video record last week's Regional workshop on MetPy/Siphon and
AWIPS at Madison. I'll be making that available once I have a chance to
edit out the breaks, time for in-class exercises, etc..
I'll let everyone know when these are available. Or, if you want to browse
through the unedited raw versions, they are up on youtube right now - I
can shoot you the links if you're interested.

David,
There are no additional Python Training Workshops scheduled at the moment.
While other institutions have expressed interest in hosting, there are no firm
plans or anything to announce at the moment.
Future workshops will be announced on this list, as well as the Unidata blog
and social media accounts. You can also watch this site for the most up-to-date
list:
