[thredds] Single character variable names

Hi All,

Does THREDDS have an issue with reading single character variable names
like 'z'?
An ncdump of the file shows all the values associated with the 'z' variable
but the 'ddx', dds', 'das', 'info' and 'html' response links are not able
to retrieve it.

Would like to know if this is a bug or a case of bad naming practices. I am
running TDS 4.2.10
