The fact that the unit wasn't understood by the input subsystem has
nothing to do with the fact that nothing was displayed. The input
subsystem just continues with a "null" unit. Thus, changing the unit
to "fake" one (I'd recommend the empty string ("") for a dimensionless
unit) won't affect the display (or lack thereof). You must have other
problems.
