Hi Stu,

Using VisAd with Mesa on Linux, I am getting this error:

  Mesa implementation error: Bad format (GL_MODULATE) in apply_texture
  Report to Mesa bug database at www.mesa3d.org

I am using Mesa-3.4-13. Do I need to move to Mesa 3.4.2?

I don't have access to a 3.4-13 to test your symptoms, but everything
works ok for us with 3.4.2.

I guess the Mesa guys don't want to hear about bugs in
anything but the latest release, so upgrading is your
best option.
