The present release of VisAD contains modifications to the subs.py and
graph.py to enhance the support of satellite image display.
New methods:
graph.mapimage(image, map=, ...) will display a navigated
map on top of the image. "image" parameter can, as always,
be an AREA file, an ADDE URL, or a.
graph.addeimage(map) will invoke the GUI for getting images via ADDE
then then display the results with a map. Note that this method
also leaves the GUI 'open' after selecting your image, so you can
easily pick another image.
Updated:
subs.py was updated to allow for more than one display to be active at
once. The issue before was some internal ScalarMaps were being re-used
(or trying to be, anyway). The update makes new ones.
New navigation:
I have added the LALOnav coordinate system. This release only
supports the "toReference()" method, but it is sufficient to use with
navigated MODIS images received via ADDE (which use the 5KM quick-look
navigation).
I have updated the Windows Installer at:
http://www.ssec.wisc.edu/~tomw/visadtutor/jyvis.exe
and have also included 3 basemaps (outlsupw, outlsupu, and outlusam)
to make it more convenient to overlay maps -- if you have another
favorite "OUTL..." map, they can be used without difficulty.
