IDV Status Report

This report updates the status of Unidata's IDV development
efforts since the
last report (April, 2009).
New development
Development and testing are underway for the next release of
the IDV (2.8) which should be released in late 2009 before
the Fall AGU meeting. Several of these features
are already available for testing in the IDV
nightly build.
- Improved Globe Display - the globe display has been
improved to be more "GoogleEarth-like".
- Remote reading of netCDF point and GEMPAK surface files
- Production version of netCDF-Java 4.1

- User defined fly-throughs
- Radar cross section
- Access and display of COSMIC data
Ongoing efforts include:
- Collaborating in the development of
VisAD
and
McIDAS-V
- Keeping up with new Java interfaces and developments
- Various and sundry IDV bug fixes and enhancements.
