NCAR's Computational Information Systems Laboratory (CISL) is looking for a Director for its Information System Division (ISD). The ISD Director leads approximately 35 staff responsible for data curation and stewardship, software engineering for data ac­­­cess, development of data management and analysis environments, workflow optimization applications, visualization and data analysis applications, data assimilation research and model development, and regional projection model assessment that is a joint effort with the NCAR Research and Applications Laboratory.

NOAA is looking for an Physical Scientist to work at the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Climate Prediction Center (CPC) in College Park, MD. CPC delivers real-time products and information that predict and describe climate variations on timescales from weeks to years thereby promoting effective management of climate risk and a climate-resilient society.

NOAA is looking for an IT specialist to work at the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Central Operations (NCO), Implementation and Data Services Branch (IDSB) in College Park, MD. The person hired will serve as the Team Lead of the IDSB Onboarding Team, which implements and maintains all of the operational applications running on the Integrated Dissemination Platform (IDP) system. IDP applications include programs that gather and process observational data, create radar mosaics, alert the public of watches and warnings, and other programs across the NWS and NOAA. Current applications include MADIS, MRMS, IRIS/iNWS, NLETS/EMWIN, among others. The Team Lead coordinates the implementation both with the development organization and across NCO. The right candidate will have strong communication, coordination, IT, software, and organizational skills.

NOAA is looking for a meteorologist to work at the Aviation Weather Center (AWC) in Kansas City, MO. The AWC is part of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), and is co-located with the NWS Training Center, Central Region Headquarters, and the Operations Proving Ground. There are eight forecast desks at AWC: five focused on domestic forecasts and three focused on international forecasts. AWC forecaster duties include issuing SIGMETs (aviation warnings), AIRMETs (aviation advisories), convective forecasts, and graphical forecasts covering phenomena such as icing, turbulence, wind shear, convection, and clouds and visibility. AWC works closely with meteorologists at the FAA Air Traffic Control System Command Center, Center Weather Service Units, airlines, other countries, and occasionally WFOs.
