The function is divided into two sections, the Tropical Desk and the South American Desk.

(IMSG), www.imsg.com a Federal Government Contractor is seeking to fill a position supporting the Hydrometeorological Prediction Center (HPC) of the National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) located in Camp Springs, MD.  The contractor will serve as a research scientist at the HPC as part of NOAA’s Hydrometeorology Testbed (NOAA HMT-HPC).  In this capacity the incumbent will work with scientists within NOAA and partners outside of NOAA to identify and evaluate promising techniques for improved weather forecasts, work with HPC meteorologists to enhance the transition of research to operations, and assist in the training of HPC staff in new techniques and tools.  The incumbent will also work with other HMT-HPC staff to publish results from studies in peer-reviewed journals.
