Welcome back to AWIPS Tips! This week we are going to learn how to use drawing properties for customizing Watches, Warnings, and Advisories (WWAs) in CAVE. The drawing properties allow you to customize the visibility of text, time, outline, and thatched fill individually between types of records and resources. The display settings also allow you to show or hide sampling for each record type in the resource. Watch the short video below on how to use drawing properties in CAVE.
NOTE: The availability of options for different record types in drawing properties is based on the time of loading. It is good practice to reload the resource when changing the number of frames.
Now that you’ve watched the video, try loading some WWA data in CAVE and using drawing properties to customize the display.
Check back in two weeks for the next blog post, a tutorial on plotting model sounding data using python-awips!
