NOAA is searching for a Supervisory Meteorologist to work at the National Weather Service (NWS), National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), Climate Prediction Center (CPC) in College Park, MD.
The Supervisory Meteorologist:
- Provides overall supervision, direction, and coordination of the Operational Monitoring Branch, which is focused on improving the Climate Prediction Center (CPC) operational suite of prediction, monitoring, assessment, and attribution products and transitioning those improvements into operations.
- Develops and directs a research program to develop new and improved existing sub-seasonal to seasonal climate prediction, monitoring, attribution, and assessment products to meet stakeholder requirements.
- Interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to understand their requirements and work with OMB staff and government and research community collaborators to improve existing and develop new products and services to meet those requirements.
