NOAA is looking for three Meteorologist/Hydrologists to work in the National Weather Service (NWS), River Forecast Center (RFC). There are two vacancies located in Slidell, LA and one vacancy located in Peachtree City, GA. All three are entry-level positions.

The Meteorologist/Hydrologists will analyze and assimilate real-time hydrometeorological data using operational hydrometeorological expertise in conjunction with advanced processing techniques, data sources and equipment. Other duties will include:
- Assimilation and quality control of hydrometeorological forecasts for input to the River Forecast Center (RFC) operational forecast system.
- Production of forecast and guidance products for the RFC area of responsibility using meteorological and hydrological expertise.
- Performing operational hydrologic forecasting shifts on an occasional rotation with other hydrologic forecasters while serving as a functional bridge between the RFC and operations at all Weather Forecast Offices (WFOs) in the RFC area.
- Performing hydrometeorological verification activities on precipitation and temperature information used in the RFC operational forecast system.
