The Unidata Program Center is hiring! We are looking for a scientific software developer to join our team in creating and maintaining software and data services to support the geosciences.

We are looking for a software developer to help support Unidata's use of the National Science Foundation's Jetstream OpenStack cloud computing platform. In this position, you'll develop, test, document, and maintain cloud-centric technologies that underlie the Unidata Science Gateway. Along the way, you'll have the chance to help colleagues and collaborators in geoscience education and research roles by deploying technologies on the Science Gateway that further their objectives.
Things you will work on include:
- Collaborating with other developers to test, maintain, document, and develop Unidata’s Science Gateway components.
- Supporting the atmospheric science community with customized PyAOS (Python for the Atmospheric and Oceanic Sciences) JupyterHub servers for workshop and classroom use.
- Helping colleagues and collaborators by deploying Science Gateway resources such as JupyterHubs and THREDDS servers on Jetstream to suit their needs.
