Deadlines to be aware of:

EarthCube All Hands Meeting Travel Grant Deadline
EarthCube is offering grants to defray travel costs for early-career scientists who want to attend this year's All Hands Meeting. The deadline to apply for these grants is March 15, 2017.

Proposals for grants supporting two types of EarthCube activities are due by March 14, 2017.
NetCDF operators (NCO) version 4.6.4
Version 4.6.4 of the netCDF Operators (NCO) has been released. NCO is an Open Source package that consists of a dozen standalone, command-line programs that take netCDF files as input, then operate (e.g., derive new data, average, print, hyperslab, manipulate metadata) and output the results to screen or files in text, binary, or netCDF formats.
2017 DeSouza Award Nominations
The Unidata Users Committee invites you to submit nominations for the Russell L. DeSouza Award for Outstanding Community Service. This Community Service Award honors individuals whose energy, expertise, and active involvement enable the Unidata Program to better serve the geosciences.
Wanted: Student Representative for Unidata Users Committee
The Unidata Users Committee is seeking nominations for a Graduate Student representative to join the group of nine university faculty members currently serving on this committee. Nominees should be Graduate Students who use Unidata software, hold a strong interest in the Unidata program, and have an interest in learning how a community-based program like Unidata is governed.

Python-Focused Software Training Workshop at Millersville University
Millersville University in Pennsylvania will be hosting a Unidata Regional Software Training Workshop April 6-8, 2017. Unidata software developers will be leading the Python-focused workshop.
On the Developer's Blog
Unidata Program Center developers write regularly on technical topics on the Unidata Developer's Blog. Most recently, developer Michael James writes about rendering AWIPS data with Matplotlib, Cartopy, and MetPy, and developer describes unit testing in the netCDF-c library using cmake.
