October 2011 Status Update: NAWIPS Migration to AWIPS II

AWIPS II

NCEP Central Operations (NCO) continued its integration of NAWIPS functionality into AWIPS II during September, in preparation for forecaster testing. Alpha testing also began on a 64-bit version.

GEMPAK 6.4.0 Released

GEMPAK

GEMPAK version 6.4.0 is now available.

LDM 6.10.0 Released

Local Data Manager

Local Data Manager version 6.10.0 is now available.

Space Shuttle Program Thanks Unidata for LDM

The Unidata Program Center has received a commendation from the National Weather Service's Spaceflight Meteorology Group, thanking the program for providing the Local Data Manger software and technical support.

EarthCube Update: White Papers

The National Science Foundation's EarthCube project continues to gain momentum, with nearly 500 participants engaging in lively electronic discussion on the EarthCube community web site.

OPeNDAP and Unidata to Integrate Scientific Data Servers

Unidata Program Center

In partnership with OPeNDAP Inc., Unidata has received a three-year award grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration in order to better align, link and eventually integrate the THREDDS Data Server with OPeNDAP's Hyrax data server.
