Unidata Staff at AGU Fall 2019 Meeting

AGU Fall Meeting 2019

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the American Geophysical Union 2019 Fall meeting, December 9-13 2019, in San Francisco, CA. Read on to see specific sessions at which UPC staff will be presenting or in attendance.

In addition to presenting talks and poster sessions, Unidata staff will be spending time at the UCAR/NCAR booth in the Exhibit Hall. Stop by for one of the scheduled demonstrations of Unidata software packages or just to chat about your data needs, summer internship opportunities, or the Unidata Equipment Awards!

Abstract Deadlines for AMS, AGU Meetings

AMS 2020 Annual Meeting

The 100th American Meteorological Society Annual Meeting in will be held 12–16 January 2020 in Boston, MA. The submission deadline for abstracts is 1 August 2019.

AGU 2019 Fall Meeting

The American Geophysical Union continues to celebrate its centennial as well. The 2019 Fall Meeting in will be held 9-13 December 2019 in San Francisco, CA. The submission deadline for abstracts is 31 July 2019.

Members of the Unidata Program Center staff will be attending the American Geophysical Union 2018 Fall meeting, December 10-14 2018, in Washington, DC. The schedule below lists specific sessions at which UPC staff will be presenting or in attendance. See the AGU Fall meeting Scientific Program for additional information on the sessions.

In addition to the talks and poster sessions listed below, Unidata staff will be spending time at the UCAR Community Programs CPAESS and EarthCube booths in the Exhibit Hall (#911 and #912) There will be scheduled demonstrations of AWIPS and the IDV, or just stop by to chat!

Call for Abstracts: AGU Sessions of Special Interest

AGU2018

The 2018 AGU Fall Meeting will be held 10-14 December 2018 in Washington, DC. This year the Earth and Space Science Informatics (ESSI) section will include several sessions that may be of special interest to Unidata community members interested in bringing new workflows and increased engagment in cyberinfrastructure efforts to the geosciences.

The sessions are:

  • IN015: Cloud-based workflows for reproducible research and education in geoscience
  • IN033: Enabling Cloud Applications for Earth Science Data
  • IN039: Goldilocks and Geoscience; Cyberinfrastructure: Challenges and Opportunities for Increasing Engagement of Geoscientists in Cyberinfrastructure Efforts, and Finding the balance between community-led efforts and top-down direction
