Rich-
The IDV Training Workshop section on Level II data uses a Bow Echo
Case study which has a line of thunderstorms. The IsoSurface display
shows the cores of the strongest storms.
Look at the pics at:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/IDV/docs/workshop/datadisplays/level2/index.html
which uses downloaded data or the more recent:
http://www.unidata.ucar.edu/software/idv/release/nightly/docs/workshop/datadisplays/level2/index.html
which uses remote access to the data with the latest nightly release.

Matt,
Neat. I didn't know that IDV could read vis5d files. Do you have an IDV
bundle that shows a bunch of cool displays with that data also?

Rich,
A few years ago I was able to run a vis5d thunderstorm simulation on IDV.
The vis5d file still exists at:

Hopefully this helps,

IDV Folks,
Does anyone have a bundle set up to look at a 3D Line
Squall or
Thunderstorm simulation?
Thanks,
Rich
