Farewell to Ed Hartnett

Ed Hartnett pleading for help from the netCDF community

The Unidata Program Center wishes a fond farewell to Ed Hartnett, who has left Unidata for a position at the University of Colorado's Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP). He will be joining two other Unidata alumni — developers Anne Wilson and Doug Lindholm — at the lab, and will be working on the ground data system for the Total Solar Irradiance Sensor instrument package, which will measure spectral and total solar irradiance.

Netcdf-Java library version 4.2.27

Netcdf-Java library version 4.2.27 is now released at:

https://www.unidata.ucar.edu/downloads/netcdf/netcdf-java-4/index.jsp

This is mostly a bug fix and supporting changes for TDS release 4.2.9. You are encouraged to use it for all things netCDF Java-ish.

All new development is now happening on version 4.3, for which there will be an alpha release very soon.

A new release, TDS 4.2.9, is now available at:

This version should be used for all production servers.
