Hi John,

Looks like you are finding the hdf5 include files but not the library
file.
>From your logs look in /usr/local/hdf5-1.8.5-macosx64-static/lib
for the file libhdf5.a or libhdf5.so    one of these should be present, if
not there is your problem.   If so try linking to it with a small test
program.
